Agreenium is one of the world’s largest agricultural and veterinary research and education organisations. It was founded by six of France’s major research and teaching organisations with the shared goal of strengthening the links between higher education and research, and highlighting this work on both a national and international scale.
Agreenium’s founding members comprise INRA, CIRAD, AgroParis Tech, Montpellier Supagro, Agrocampus Ouest and the National Veterinary School of Toulouse, and bring together significant human resources, research and teaching facilities and partnerships.
Agreenium is coordinating these resources and skills at the interface of Research, Education, Development and International action (REDI), launching concrete actions which meet the needs of its founder members and the expectations of partners both in France and the wider world.
Agreenium’s first priorities are to:

Strengthen the international role of French research and training. This is being achieved through the creation of a single operational management system for support mechanisms, for partnerships with foreign universities and research organisations, and for French involvement in international organisations and projects.
- Support actions which benefit from combining the four basic REDI components and which
involve a real change of position through pooling approaches and resources.

Organise events and promote the activities of Agreenium on the national and international stage.
- Set up
a joint information platform offering a portal to a range of services to reinforce the visibility of Agreenium and develop the tools necessary to support its projects and actions.
Agreenium’s actions will be implemented through collaboration and networking with a broad range of partners, including universities and international organisations.
Through its support for research and training projects and its promotion of mobility programmes, Agreenium will make an active contribution to the strengthening of the European Research Area (ERA).
Furthermore, by bringing together its considerable human resources, facilities and partnerships and supporting innovative research, education and development projects, Agreenium will help to meet the global challenge of increasing food production through more sustainable agricultural systems. Implicit in tackling this challenge is the need to share and optimise our knowledge about agriculture, food, animal health and the environment.
