Agreenium and the international

The aim of the consortium “Agreenium” is to develop a combined French research and higher education offer in the fields of agronomy and veterinary science, and to promote it at the international level. To achieve this, Agreenium’s founder members have pooled their international support skills.

In France, Agreenium has set up a joint department to welcome foreign delegations, to centralise and direct requests from foreign partners (expertise, exchanges, partnerships, etc.) to its members and to advise and support members’ missions abroad. To contact us.

Worldwide, Agreenium relies on a network of representatives belonging to its members, mainly the regional directors of Cirad and joint Cirad-INRA representatives abroad. In addition to promoting French agricultural sciences system internationally, Agreenium representatives carry out monitoring actions and identify partnership or funding opportunities for all members, and provide support in developing bi- or multilateral partnerships.

Agreenium also manages international projects combining research and training and development components by mobilising and coordinating its members’ skills, and helping to find external funding.

Agreenium plays an active role in the aftermath of crises, such as the catastrophe that hit the Republic of Haiti by cooperating in the reconstruction of higher education in the fields of agronomy, food and food safety, the environment and veterinary public health.

Within the context of globalisation of agriculture-related challenges, Agreenium participates in discussions on the role of the French system within the global agricultural research system conducted by the CRAI (the French commission for international agronomic research), instigated by  GFAR (Global forum on agricultural research) and CGIAR (Consultative group on international agricultural research).

Agreenium was involved (preparation and participation) in the G20 conference on agricultural research (Montpellier, 12-13/09/2011) and, more specifically, in the global initiative to set up a tropical agriculture platform.
