In founding the Consortium, the six initial members forged an alliance to meet major world challenges (demographic, environmental and energy resources).
With more than 300 research units, training and research campuses, partnerships with universities and a network of technological platforms in 50 industrialized and developing countries, Agreenium is the leading research and training system in Europe and the second largest worldwide.
Agreenium’s objective is to enhance the performance of the national research and training system in the fields of Agriculture, Food, Animal health and the Environment, and to strengthen its visibility, appeal and capacity to act worldwide.
Other structures have recently joined the consortium as co- founder members or associates.The Institut national polytechnique de Toulouse has taken the place of ENVT whereas in June 2012, AgroSup Dijon joined Agreenium as a founder member and Bordeaux Sciences Agro has become the first associated member.
