AgroParisTech

AgroParisTech AgroParisTech, the European school for engineers and managers in the field of living organisms and the environment, was created on 1st January 2007 by ENGREF, ENSIA and INA P-G.

AgroParisTech is a public establishment with a scientific, cultural and professional purpose (EPSCP), and has a status of  “grand établissement”.
 AgroParisTech was founded on 1st January 2007 by ENGREF, ENSIA and INA P-G. It is a founder member of ParisTech, an association of 11 of the most prestigious higher education establishments in France, and of the Fondation de Cooperation Scientifique of the Saclay campus.
 It is a core member of the Paris cluster in Life and Environmental Science and Technology, under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The diplomas

The range of diplomas offered by AgroParisTech includes engineering and master’s degrees, and PhD degrees from the ABIES doctoral school.
  Engref, a post-graduate institute of AgroParisTech, offers post-master’s training courses and a wide range of short diploma courses.
  All these courses are being revised ready for September 2010.
 72% of AgroParisTech students complete a period abroad during their studies. AgroParisTech has 117 bilateral agreements with foreign establishments, including universities in Europe (55%), North and South America (USA, Canada, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, and Argentina) (24%), Asia (14%), and the rest of the world (17%).

Fields of study

AgroParisTech has five teaching and research departments, organized around their main fields of study:

  • Agronomy, Forestry, Water and Environmental Science and Technology ;
  • Science and Engineering for Food and Bioproducts ;
  • Life Sciences and Health ;
  • Social Science, Economics and Management ;
  • Modelling, mathematics, computing and physics ;

This structure is supported by 32 research units, of which 29 are in joint partnership with research organisations, notably INRA. In addition to these units, some teacher- researchers maintain their skills and develop their research in other laboratories.
 AgroParisTech has four structures supporting teaching and research. Research transfer and application is achieved via ADEPRINA under an agreement approved by the research and innovation directorate of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, and the ParisTech incubator.

People

  • 2,000 students, including 1,200 engineering students and 450 doctoral students ;
  • 260 teacher-researchers ;  
  • 328 administrative and technical staff.
