The Centre for Higher International Studies in Agronomic Sciences obtained the status of “grand établissement” EPSCP (public establishment with a scientific, cultural and professional purpose). It was created on 1st January 2007 by merging four establishments - ENSA.M, CNEARC, ENSIA-SiARC, and CEP Florac.
Montpellier SupAgro is an associate member of the higher research and teaching cluster (PRES) of the "Université Montpellier Sud de France". Together with Inra, Cirad and IRD, it set up the “Agropolis Fondation” for scientific cooperation, supporting the state-recognized network for advanced research (RTRA) for agronomy and sustainable development. It is a member of the Agropolis International cluster which brings together the main players in research and higher education in the Languedoc-Roussillon area.
With extensive openings to the Mediterranean and developing countries, Montpellier SupAgro offers three courses for engineers and a wide range of initial and continuing education courses which come within the 3-level framework (bachelor-master-doctorate) of European university degrees.
In 2009, in partnership with eight companies and organisations, it created the “SupAgro Foundation”, the first university foundation in agronomic sciences.
